Green Tea (Camellia sinensis)

Green Tea has been a long-standing favourite beverage for thousands of years and has been studied for its most abundant components – polyphenols, which predominately consist of flavonoids such as catechin, and epicatechin gallate.

Its these constituents which are chiefly responsible for the chemoprotective, antimicrobial and antioxidant activity.

Human studies have also found Green tea has antihypertensive and cardioprotective benefits, and may also aid in weight loss.  As it does contain a small amount of caffeine, it makes a lovely alternative to coffee with all the added benefit of those medical qualities whether your drinking it as a dried leaf or matcha latte (P.S We have both)…

Actions: Antioxidant, astringent, antibacterial, antiviral, hypocholesterolaemic, diuretic, anticarcinogenic.

Indications: Cancer prevention, Alzheimer’s disease, cardiovascular disease, assist in weight loss, hypercholesterolaemia, haemochromatosis.
